Most people look at the names that are on a golf cart that you buy in The Villages and wonder how you can get them changed.

I am here to tell you that it is a very simple process to get it done quickly.

Get out your favorite hair dryer and gently heat up the current name that is there. You don’t need to melt it or burn it, just get the adhesive on the back of the vinyl to get a bit relaxed. Put the hair dryer down and with a finger nail or small not really sharp knife, pick at one of the corners. Once you get it started you will be amazed how quickly that old name will come right off.

So now you have the names off the cart but you still have some work to do. I bet if you stand back and look at the cart you can still see an outline of the name that was there. That is dirt and weather that has built up and it also needs to come off. My favorite product to use is
Goo-Gone. You can get it at Home Depot, Lowes, almost any drug store. Get your hair dryer going again and heat the area up just like you did before.  Again, just some gentle heat. Squirt some Goo-Gone onto a soft cloth and start cleaning the old adhesive from the golf cart. Make sure that you get all of it off. Any glue left behind will just attract dirt and the name will once again appear. When you are all done, use some cleaner like Windex or an Alcohol base cleaner and clean the area to remove all of the Goo-Gone and any remaining residue.
